Pietisserie offers an idiosyncratic take on pie that is playful, modern and elegant. The company began after I got the notion to give away slices out of a "country window" at my mother's San Francisco home. At the time, I knew how to make only three pies, but I had uncovered a knack for design and combining flavors in the most unexpected of places: pie! At the outset, well-meaning people would ask, What problem does this business solve? But the burning question for me has always been, What is the beautiful thing inside of you that deserves amplification? That's what Pietisserie is about.
Jaynelle started Pietisserie in 2010 and grew the business from local popups to storefront retail presence in Oakland, CA. Since 2019, Pietisserie has expanded into national shipping, delivery and grocery retail accounts with well known grocers like Whole Food's Market and Berkeley Bowl. Jaynelle has received recognition from major food media including Road Trip with G. Garvin and Unique Sweets on the Cooking Channel, Food & Wine magazine, and The Best Thing I Ever Ate on Food Network.
